Who killed Reena Virk? The teenager’s murder and subsequent investigation are at the heart of the new crime series “Under the Bridge.” Hulu’s limited series adapts Rebecca Godfrey’s book about the crime, a case that would shock Canada during the late ’90s. 29-year-old wunderkind writer/director Quinn Shephard heads up the project, also acting as executive producer. The multi-hyphenate previously helmed the dramedy-thriller film “Not Okay.”

Lily Gladstone leads the cast as Cam Bentland, an officer tasked with unraveling the case. The actress is having a career-defining moment with her acclaimed work in “Killers of the Flower Moon.” She additionally won raves for the Sundance Film Festival drama “Fancy Dance.” “Under the Bridge” also stars Riley Keough, Vritika Gupta, Chloe Guidry, Javon “Wanna” Walton, Izzy G., Aiyana Goodfellow, and Ezra Faroque Khan — with Archie Panjabi. This marks yet another project where Keough is a credited executive producer.

“Under the Bridge” is based on acclaimed author Rebecca Godfrey’s book about the 1997 true story of fourteen-year-old Reena Virk (Vritika Gupta), who went to join friends at a party and never returned home. Through the eyes of Godfrey (Riley Keough) and a local police officer (Lily Gladstone), the series takes us into the hidden world of the young girls accused of the murder—revealing startling truths about the unlikely killer.
