At this point, after five films in the “Despicable Me” universe, we know what to expect from these movies. Basically, it’s Minions and more Minions. And the new trailer for “Despicable Me 4” puts a heavy emphasis on the little yellow creatures.
As seen in the trailer, the Minions are front and center as they get turned into Mega Minions, aka superpowered Minions, who are out to stop the latest villain in the franchise. And where is Gru in all of this? He’s a new dad, with the birth of Gru Jr., who torments his parents to no end. Hilarity ensues.
The film features the vocal talents of Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Will Ferrell, Pierre Coffin, Joey King, Sofia Vergara, Stephen Colbert, Miranda Cosgrove, Chloe Fineman, Steve Coogan, Chris Renaud, Dana Gaier, and Madison Polan. “Despicable Me 4” is directed by Chris Renaud, who previously helmed films such as the first two “Despicable Me” films, “The Lorax,” and the two “Secret Life of Pets” films.
“Despicable Me 4” arrives in theaters on July 3. You can watch the trailer below.
